wow what a great giveaway!
I buy valentine cards after valentines day when they are 90 percent off for next year. I try to do this with all the holidays.
When i see super clearance items I get them and put them in my present closet so I am all set for birthdays.

I love to save a buck!! So I am a big coupon clipper/finder :) I search out the best deal and than try and find a discount for it. It really saves to shop around. I do this for groceries as well, there are many websites out there that help save you the time and trouble of finding deals on groceries. Couponmom.com is one that’s great and they always have coupon codes for Resturaunt.com which is another way we save money when we eat out. Thanks for such a great giveaway!! :)

Couponing and weekly flyers have helped a great deal and my pantry, fridge, and freezer are stocked.

Thanks!

We swap toys and clothes with family members and friends to keep costs down.

Let’s see: use coupons especially when the items go one sale, shop clearance, shop around before buying big, buy used and consignment, trade items with other mommies, eat brown bag lunches

I love being on their Birthday Club! $3 gift card for the bday kid. LOVE IT!

Definitely shop after the Holidays, especially after Thanksgiving. They have tons of good deals on clothes and some toys. Also, if there is a present you know who you will need to buy for, shopping in advance (maybe upto a year) can save you lots of $$$ too.

I am wondering if i am lucky enough to win this $25 gift card. Good luck everyone!

I try to buy clothes the year before when everything is in deep sale mode for my kids. That way I only have to fill in with shoes etc.

Also, I try to prepare meals that give us one day of leftovers if I know the next day is going to be really busy and I won’t have time to cook this way we save lots on take out!!!!

Good Luck everyone!

I always use coupons for grocery shopping. One year I counted up how much I saved over the year and it was over $600! That’s a lot. Good way to save money!

recession? what recession?? jk
i normally buy kids clothes when they’re on sale and stock up big time when they’re super cheap.

I buy things when they are on sale for the following year. Like all holiday items and clothing for my kids

I save money by entering giveaways on products that I normally would buy.

RSS Feed! whoo-hoo! =)

my tip is to buy at thrift stores, on craigsist, or get things as hand me downs.

I’m a big user of the local thrift stores. You can find many wonderful items there. Thanks for having the wonderful giveaway

Our town has 4 different children’s consignment sales twice a year. That’s 8 sales a year. I shop them all! You can find such great gently used children’s items at AWESOME prices. Even more so, most of these sales also offer 50% off or more on the last day of the sale. So I get a whole season wardobe for under $50!

I use COUPONS and more coupons to save $$$!

Great premise for a blog!

could certainly use this gift card! A frugal tip? ALWAYS use coupons. You can practically find one for everything, IF you take the time to look :)

I get a lot of games and toys for the kids at Goodwill. They always put out tons of electronic toddler toys, and I’ve found some awesome board games that I never could have found in a regular store! I also buy clothes there sometimes. I got myself a winter jacket there for $10.00, and the kids are always getting cool T-shirts and sweatshirts and stuff for only two or three bucks each!

I frequent a nearby Thrift Store and find many things at affordable prices. I love to quilt and often times I get great fabrics etc. Thanks for having the wonderful giveaway.

Hmmm.. Tips?!

I NEVER buy tupperware. I always reuse butter containers, sour cream, containers that fruit comes in. Not only saves money, but recycles as well!!

Nice prize.

Great giftcard!! My money saving tips is to enter lots of blog giveaways–I’ve won some great stuff that I use as gifts!

when I find a good coupon for a product I use – usually $1 off something – I will get a lot of them so I can stock up. I sometimes have to buy them on ebay, other times I can find them at printable sites or multi newspapers to cut them out.
I also pack hubby’s lunch and the guys at work are always jealous.

My baby’s birthday is April 7 & he’s been “hinting” as he reads the Sunday paper””Look, there’s a Toys R Us ad”. ha! Would love to win for HIM, thanks for including this as party of UBP :) .

My money saving tip is, if there are certain things in the house we don’t use, I sell it online and take the money from there to buy something we need.

think before you buy….

Grow a vegetable garden and eat fresh vegetables and freeze the excess.

Never pay full price, use a coupon, an online code, or wait for a sale! Also, check consignment shops, craigslist and friend for toys and clothes for kids.

I watch for really good sales and stock up when I can to save money.

Its not really saving for me, it’s surviving. I buy at thrift stores and yard sales and then pass down through my 5 kids, then sell to get money to buy more to pass down and then………

i end up not having time to go to stores so i buy online alot. i use couponcabin[dot]com to save money. on some sites they will even let you use 2 coupon codes so i have gotten $ off my order and free shipping! that site has helped me save a bunch of money!

I coupon and buy according to what is on sale. I also have a menu so we always know what is for dinner and don’t feel like there is nothing to eat and go out to eat. Thanks!

When you go to Target go to the customer service desk and print out their online coupons. I did yesterday and got a box of fruit snacks for my kids lunches for 52 cents!

My money saving tip is to keep your receipts from all the grocery stores you visit and compare prices – you’ll be shocked who carries the cheapest items overall!

We buy our meat in bulk from Costcoand it saves a ton ofmoney! Thanks for the chance.

JeansandTs@hotmail.com
I have a freezer and I buy my meat from a meat locker plant which saves hundreds of dollars on meat per year. You can not get meat more fresh than straight from the farmer.

I only purchase jeans at Goodwill for my Kiddo’s. A lot of times, the tags will still be on them, and $3 sure beats $30!

Thanks for a Fun Giveaway :)

Carefully search drug store advertisements on Sundays. Walgreens and CVS not only offer great sales, but they often coordinate with coupons in the paper and on-line. Walgreens will also give your overages. I bought aluminum foil last week and was basically paid 12 cents a roll by Walgreens because it was on sale for 88 cents and I had a $1 coupon!

I am a member of a few survey companies that I can get Amazon gift cards from. I use the gift cards to buy gifts and use the free shipping. Thanks for the chance.

Use coupons with a store coupon any time you can for double the savings!

I save money by buying bread and buns at a bakery outlet.

I always buy my kids wardrobe ahead of time and fill in. My son’s closest already has lots brand new stuff for summer that I bought at the end of the season last year at great prices!

My tip would be: Always give the store brand products a try. 90% of the time, it’s the left over product from the brand name item.. same product, lower price :) thanks!

i never leave home without my coupons!

I never, ever leave home without my coupons and some snacks. Thanks for the chance! This would be great for my son’s upcoming birthday.

I stock up using coupons when there is a good sale.

I save money by using all the coupons I can get!

I combine coupons with store sales to stock up on staples when the price is right!

I buy a lot of second hand items at consignment shops and garage sales. You can get children’s clothing and toys in very good condition and at a fraction of the originol price. I also have garage sales and resell what I buy as my kids outgrow it….almost like getting something for nothing!

I try to buy gently used toys from my mom friends with older children who are cleaning out. It is a win/win I get great deals and they unload unwanted items and make a few extra dollars.

i always stock up on Meat Sales ,use coupons and buy my Cleaning Supplies , papertowls etc. @ the Dollar Store.

thanks bunches :)

I downsized my trash container because we never used the can to capacity. Savs us $100+ a year.

I clip coupons and I compare sale circulars before shopping.

We play outside more and swap toys with friends to keep costs down

We stopped eating out. On the very few rare occasions that we do eat outside of the home we usually choose ‘bulk’ foods from the appetizer menu and share those and we also drink water instead of tea or soda. Water is FREE! and better for you too.

I recently lost a lot of weight and most of my clothes don’t fit well. Instead of buying new clothes, I went to a rummage sale/thrift store in a nearby town and was able to buy some really nice stuff for a lot less than retail. Even less that discounted retail!

We buy our children’s clothes at the end of season for the next year. Last year (when my son was only 1 1/2), we bought him a $90 winter jacket for $6! It’s a size 4 but we know he’ll grow into it. While pregnant with my daughter, we bought her entire wardrobe for this summer for under $100 – all the clearance items were on sale for 1/2 off the clearance price! We just put them in a rubbermaid container and take them out as they grow into them.

I’m saving money right now by carrying around a juice box or two and snacks in my purse. Now we’re rarely tempted to grab a snack when we’re out!

I stockpile to save money – I buy loads of non-perishables while they’re at their lowest price!

Thank you!

my money saving tip istofollow the many blogs about saving money such as dealseakingmom.com.. to find great deals

I think this is a great giveaway! My sister just recently started her own blog loveabundle.com and so I started reading that one plus other peoples. That gives me a good idea of where the sales are and what stores are having a sale on products I need for the week. Thanks to all the people who started money saving blogs! They are read and appreciated!

I hardly ever buy something unless it’s on sale. If I have to pay ‘retail’ price, I buy generic. I’ve just started clipping coupons and it’s really helping, too!

I shop end of season clearance racks for the next year. I shop thrift stores and often find brand name clothing with the retail tags still attached for awesome prices (Salvation Army 49 cent night). I also shop garage sales for kids clothes to save money.

i always shop clearance sections first!!!

There is a great website called freecycle.org. It is all stuff that is free. People use it so that less items go in the landfills.

Hope I win! Would love to use this, as a 1st-time mom! Here’s a tip on how I’m saving a TON of cash on diapers: http://www.bargainshoppingparadise.com/2009/02/why-i-switched-to-cloth-diapers-and-how.html

To save money, I only do FREE activities with my kids (park, library, etc). Enter me!

I wanna win the gift card for DIAPERS.

I try to save money by matching coupons with sales, and planning my menu around this.

To save secondhand baby stores are great for new items

One of my huge money saving tips is doing shopping for canned and boxed foods at an Amish Bent and Dent Grocery. It is just that bent boxes and dented cans, and very cheap. I can buy brand named veggies for $0.35 per can and ceral for $1.50 per box.

I am a new subscriber, yeah!!

We are saving money as well as saving the earth by switching from bottled water to filtered tap water.

I have suscribed. Thanks for the great giveaway!

My money saving tip is if your going to shop at walmart, don’t go on the weekend! :)

Cut your fabric softener’s in half to get twice the use out of them…

Buy 2-4 papers and clip multiple coupons to take advantage of BOGO sales and good deals!

Money saving tip-always make a list before you go to the store and stick to it.

We use the bags that our newspapers come in as diaper bags, pooper scooper bags and kitty liter bags. Even our friends save them for us.

I buy all my gifts on sale and clearance… and sometimes save them for a long time… but then it’s the right time!

Try to buy used items. Check Craigslist and consignment stores for used items. Much cheaper than new! Thanks for the chance to win!

I use swagbucks for online searches- a great way to earn free gift cards!

I bought valentine candy on clearance and used it for easter. I just told my gilr they had hearts on them because the easter bunny loves them :)

I always Shop sales, Clip coupons, and hit those clearance racks!

Thanks so much for the chance!

Try to use a shopping basket rather than a shopping cart whenever possible. You’ll spend less money, because your arms will be too tired to haul around all the stuff you want to buy.

I save money by planning our meals out for a week and making a list of what I really need. This has helped SO much!

I buy the Sunday paper specifically to clip the coupons. I can save $20 a shopping trip on average so it’s worth it. Plus I buy a lot of store brands because the quality is very similar and it all adds up in the end.

We use the envelope system from FPU to help us budget and save money during the month!

What we have been doing lately is cooking a few meals each weekend and freezing them. It has been saving us a lot! We also started growing a few veggies in our backyard. I thought it would be too hard but once we narrowed it down to a few easy to grow veggies, it worked! We are saving some by doing that also! Thanks for the chance!

Awesome- I love Toys R Us more than any kid :) Since money is rather scarce, my tip for the world is to try to buy used everything! Maybe not used food or underwear or that kind of thing, but :) stuff like clothes, toys, books, appliances, etc. can be had far cheaper than retail prices if you know where to look (g sales, thrift stores, friends and neighbors, etc.) Thanks for the entry!

When I bake or cooking food like chili, turkey, meatloaf I make extras and then freeze the leftovers so that when we have a kids sporting event school activity or just feel like being lazy, I can take out of freezer put in microwave and a quick meal.

I make my own laundry detergent. It’s a mixture of Borax, Washing Soda, Fels Naptha soap and a couple other ingredients. So easy to make. Takes about 10 minutes to cook up and costs about $0.80 to make a 40 load jug.

I’ve subscribed via google reader.

We use a combination of coupons and weekly sale flyers to get the best deals. My kids know not to ask for it unless I have a coupon!
